And, to be clear, I quoted my game as a second example. I think CautiousKamikaze's game at the start of the thread is also "legitimate", i.e., I wouldn't think him rude for holding on for as long as he did (and winning in the end).
I do resign occasionally...
But I prefer to play out games till its end as I'm still learning a lot.

I dislike it when someone blunders a knight early and just concedes.
Resigning in chess is also a matter of levels
If its a one minute game then most of the time I will play to the end, sometimes in ridiculously lost positions. Why ? Because I have won many games playing like this. Maybe against 2000 + opponents I resign early since chances they will not finish me correctly decrease massively. To my annoyed opponents I say - you do not need to give me a rematch :) Their ego is hurt that you do not respect them enough to resign . Respect yourself !!
