Season 10 - Fourth Level - Group G

A triumph for the underdog - that's the only way to describe this group.

@roumengou and @christianmfranck were the bottom two seeds at the start of the season - but it is they who comfortably claimed the two promotion spot, ultimately with something to spare.

In particular, ninth seed @roumengou's solid positional style made him a formidable opponent, often grinding players down in unspectacular but very effective style. He topped the group with a hugely impressive 7.5/9.

Bottom seed @christianmfranck came from a little further back, but inflicting @roumengou's only defeat helped him leap clear of the chasing pack. He eventually finished on 7/9. Well played both.

Sadly, both players have opted to take a break from Season 11, but we hope they'll be back soon!

Elsewhere, the likes of top seed @oliverjrwise and @CelestineProphet had strong seasons but were a little too inconsistent to maintain their challenges. But there were surprises at the bottom - second seed @Chris1976 was in trouble all season and scraped clear of the drop zone at the death by the narrowest of margins (head-to-head record versus @Mike12345, who finished in the bottom two). It got very competitive at the bottom towards the end of the season - @Don_Tonio and @Leikomotiv looked like they may be dragged into the survival scrap but had enough in the tank to pull clear of trouble.

Only five players from this pool have signed up for Season 11. But we thank you all for playing in what was a very competitive group. Good luck to those playing in Season 11, and for those taking a break, we hope to see you again soon!

1. roumengou 7.5/9 (C)

Thanks @JournoPete83 for the nice summary and kind words at the end of the season.
Thanks @weBNimz0 and @CarlFromFinland for their excellent organization of the League.
And finally thanks to all other players of group G, it was great fun playing with you.
It was a lot of fun, but I underestimated the effort/time it took me for the games, so I take a break, but will for sure be back in the future, when my other pasttimes (kids, work, ...) go down in intensity.
You are more than welcome @christianmfranck
I know exactly what you mean about the intensity required alongside work and family life! So totally understand the need for a break.

Best of luck with everything and hope to see you in future leagues and cups
