Dragging or dropping pieces

I've recently noticed that dragging pieces such as rooks, bishops, and queens along a diagonal or a file results in a lot of slips, which I find difficult to attribute only to the mouse. Many times, if I want to drag such a piece somewhere along a file/diagonal, it will drop near its initial square, almost as if magnetically attracted to it. For example, if I want to drag a bishop from f8 to b4 along that diagonal, it will "stick" to e7 or d6 before I can actually drop it.

Also, the same issue appears when dropping reserve pieces in crazyhouse chess. They will drop on the squares closest to the reserve box, as if they were magnetically drawn there.

Please let me know if others are also experiencing this issue, since it started for me only after yesterday's updates (during this crazyhouse tournament: http://en.lichess.org/tournament/9CbICpC2).
I am getting this kind of behavior on slow computer (laptop with celeron, also on linux)
Mine has intel i3, and is reasonably fast for most tasks. Also, like I said, I didn't have this issue before the lichess updates two days ago.
That's why I do not drag the pieces. It is much safer to click on the piece you want to move, then click on the target square. No more "accidents".
@ceterus: But in faster time controls like bullet, that would waste a lot of time. So most people use the drag feature.
