Chess marathon tournament

Idea directly stoled from IRC, we need a "7/6 never forget" trophy / sticker for the people who eagerly wanted their chance to win for a trophy.

I second this motion, being the person from whom it is stolen. :D
Alternatively, we could have a "DDOS Participant" ribbon/trophy (also from IRC).

I want my trophy !!! :'(

Lichess is a great page of chess, this problem is normal, is maybe by the big demand in the marathon, i hope that the next no happen.

Yup, too much rage and not enough love there at the end.

Stating the positive points, what a success in terms of attendance! And the pairing works great, each game was tough but never frustrating for me overall, in terms of level I mean (getting a couple of massive beatings on the way, especially by Potpie - gg -, but never too many in a row).

Fantastic attendance count, definitely! Though unfortunately, and I hate to say it since that kills the atmosphere, I didn't even play an honest game because when I was trying, my network timed out and I gave up after it did that three times. People in the tournament chat reported similar experiences and even wished the people who could play and didn't get timed out good luck (?!).

An hour later (fourteen minutes ago from now?) I went to my cousins' apartment to leech their light fibre network, and the tournament was already melting; I lost and won several games automagically having done nothing.

Thanks for the fun and excitement having made the tournament, despite it didn't turn out well, it was a fantastic experience, and it's been a pleasure.

Yeah, I suggested a "DDOS participant trophy" to all players who participated in the tournament. Would at least be some compensation for losing 200 rating points in 5 minutes :-)

Is it too much to ask for rating points back? Small compensation for losing over 200 points in less that 10 minutes when I wasnt even put in the game.

I say thanks to lichess for trying. I am sure it will go better next time.
