Tournaments for different rating levels

I do not like the idea. I want to play people that are 5 6 700 points stronger so I can learn. I do not want to be forced into a lower section or I will never learn. However the majority of players I enjoy playing the most are the ones slightly better than me like 50-100 elo. When I enter otb tournaments I play in open because I want to gain more experience.
Playing against much higher rated players results in plenty of loses. I hate to lose. Playing in hyper bullet tournament against much higher rated players results in 100% losses on time. Therefore I both I lose and I don't learn anything.
Maybe if it was optional to ether play in your own section or play up.
Yeah, I'm kind of against the chess.com layout of tournaments. I think there is a reason that lichess tournaments are so much fun, and chess.com tournaments are so poorly attended :P. Anyways, it's nice to get away from rating brackets for me.
First of all, lets find out why do you want a tournament cap? Perhaps you are tired of losing to much higher rated players. This is the most obvious cause.
But the problem is there are many people, ready to do anything to please their ego. They will abuse the system, by losing rating on purpose just to enter those capped tournaments. And eventually you will wind up losing at the same rate, but feel much worse, because those players will be of the same rating with you.

There are plenty of them on lichess in rated games. Those people play much weaker opponents to gain super win\lose ratio. For example this guy: http://en.lichess.org/@/sissijp He has stats like 900 wins / 300 loses. This is statistics of a good International master, but the guy has rating 1500-1800. When he loses, he just leaves the game without resigning, or waits for his time to run out.

Floored tournaments are a good idea, but capped tournaments are not at all.
I am not that good chess player, but I play crazyhouse very often. I found it real boring to play a 5 min match with a beginner 700 points behind me. I neither get any points for a win nor feel interested to play a match like that. In the end it turns out that I actually never decide to enter longer tournament time controls because it Just seems to be loosing time.
I don't think the occasional sandbagger posing as a lower-level player should be a barrier to setting up a capped tournament. Is a 2000+ player really going to intentionally reduce his rating just to play in a tournament capped at 1500? I don't see it.

The idea I have is to make capped (or floored) tournaments be part of the daily choices you have in the tournament list. I think the big tournaments (the ones that offer real prizes) should be open to all, as they are now.
