I almost never entertain a rematch offer. I like to take a break after I play agame.
It makes me laugh how people try to avoid the obvious. The simple truth is that you want a rematch so badly because you are pissed off after losing and you want your revenge, right?
It is not like you had a great conversation with that player or enjoyed their company etc. I mean in terms of playing chess what matters if the player is called "X" or "Y".
Equally the other player takes pleasure in denying you a chance for revenge. It is quite interesting how the principles of children's games always apply to adults world as well.
It is like they squirt water at you and run away and you're left with a wet tshirt and a bucket of water but the other person is far away... and you come back to the community and cry.

Great comments. Usually if I've just beaten someone I feel a bit sorry for them and then don't play so well the second time. Plus, a win is a win and it's nice to enjoy the feeling for a few minutes at least.
