Need help on how to win an endgame with pawn and bishop?

Toscani method of separating the issues can also be done as a study plan for your own as sparring with engine or other human curious to discuss what happens.

there are other further experiements, like putting more thing in your favor until you see something, and solve it, and then go back in that process. change back to more subtle..

I like this kind of unclear zone, so I can start building some understanding of what placements differences can compensate for what material advantage. here none, so then then, figure out how much it is a draw by changing some aspects.

Toscani did suggest a good one. no bishop. clear there is a sup-problem there, given that the pawn chains looked locked.

but then bishops, and chains. which type of bishop. can they interfere Toscani sub problem. by having solved Toscani one way (if not draw itself from the kind proximity, because if kings were away, sufficiently so, maybe a pawn would pass....

actually, you could even freeze the kings to see how that could go. but there are not sparring tools for that, you would have to play both sides. ou use old GUI and older engine, with some kind of fine grain engine control of its handicap modes.

I would not mind playing such sub-problem in correspondance with you. (I do it with engine, but it keeps moving the kings).

I would do it alone, but it might be more motivating with someone else trying the other side. so maybe that dilutes the speed of seeing the best moves, but the fun might make many games needed that way a better motivational play/study trade-off.

It does not have to be me. you can find other cobayes with that kind of mindset.... LOL.
